In the heart of bucolic Andalusian countryside, situated 10 kilometres outside Jerez de la Frontera, lies Alcantara Ecuestre. It is a beautiful farm dedicated entirely to horses and equestrian pursuits, run by the charming Alfonso Lopez de Carrizosa and his wife, Rocio de la Calle Duran. With beautiful, rustic accommodation available for up to 8 people, it is a fantastic outdoor retreat for small groups of horse lovers.
Join Bacchus for a four-night riding adventure and introduction to the Sherry Triangle, spending two nights at Alcantara and two nights in the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River.
Casting our minds back to our first tour in 2017, we spent wonderful days hacking from taverna to taverna, crossing golden sunflower fields and riding past antiquated bullrings. We paused at family-run bodegas for sherry at elevenses, before venturing into the heart of the Sherry Triangle to taste mother cask sherries and dine with local winemakers. We hope you can join us for more of the same.
