Bacchus on Horseback
Bacchus horse riding holidays in Andalusia began in 2017, saddling up with our local hosts Alfonso and Rocio at their hacienda outside of Jerez and riding through a pocket of rural Spain untouched.
Hacking from taverna to taverna, we crossed golden sunflower fields, rode past antiquated bullrings and paused at family-run bodegas for sherry at elevenses, before venturing into the heart of the Sherry Triangle to taste mother cask sherries and dine with local winemakers.

Riding Destinations
Our horse riding tours take place in Andalusia, near to the small city of Jerez de la Frontera. Jerez is one of three cities, alongside Sanlucar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa María, that mark the border of the Sherry Triangle.

Andalusia
Magnificent architecture, flamenco and the infamous pueblos blancos form only part of Andalusia’s rich tapestry. Ruled by the Moors from the early 8th until the late 15th centuries and with both Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines, Spain’s most southern region boasts palatial bodegas in the Sherry Triangle and rural landscapes in the Sierra de Aracena.
